I took inspiration from Ingrid’s sun and flowering tree.
We are in Colorado currently and there are many plum trees in bloom. In my research I discovered that the plum tree in Japan represents courage and bravery in the face of difficulties as the blossoms appear in all their glory despite the cold snowy winter (we woke up to a dusting of snow this morning!). On one of my morning walks here I was greeted by a lovely little Spotted Towhee so I included him in my piece as well as the Rocky Mountains in the distance.
Done in watercolor on hot press paper.
