Sign Up in the Lounge under the Inspire the Line Group
Craig will notify you when it's your turn
Make a piece of art in response to the person ahead of you in the "Line" in one week
Submit a high quality digital photograph of your piece to Craig
Post your piece on Social Media and tag us @artist.in.residence.coop on IG and FB and @artistinresidence.co on Bluesky
At the end of the project, we will publish a book containing all of the drawings which will be available for purchase.

Here is my addition to Inspire the Line. I was inspired by the Spring theme. My sun is higher and warmer, shining on the chickens a son and his family plan to get this Spring. I used watercolor, black Uni-ball Vision and Uni-ball Signo pens, and pieces of gel prints for the sun and the chickens.

I was inspired by the black dog on the right and wanted to depict a dog gazing at your work, capturing a thoughtful yet slightly worried expression on its face. This reflects my trepidation about being able to imitate or respond to your art. Above the dog’s head, I included a cherry tree branch as a reference to the cherry trees in your pieces. I aimed to create a strong connection between your work and mine; thus, the dog is looking at your sun, while both the sun and the chicken appear to gaze back at the dog. I have maintained the same colour scheme as in your artwork. This piece was created using coloured pencils, markers, and watercolour.

This was created to symbolise the awakening of Spring. The low sun speaks of shorter days, the blossom just starting to show on the trees and the birds are singing because the warmth is coming after the long winter. The black dog can stand for playfulness or equally solitude or even meloncholy, which is why it's positioned towards the edge of the illustration. It is on it's way out of the scene to make way for happier times. The crocus are coming out and nature feels optimistic and enlivened again. This was created digitally in Photoshop.
